Counsel-review draft · September 10, 2026

Terms of use

CAL Threat is not yet approved for live client information.

While the yellow testing banner is visible, use synthetic information only. These terms are prepared for counsel review and do not represent counsel approval.

Purpose and limits

CAL Threat is a client-controlled behavioral concern intake, triage, documentation, and human-review aid. It is not an emergency service, automated threat assessment, clinical or medical tool, forensic evidence system, case-management system, or substitute for trained professional judgment. It does not score cases, select a threat or risk level, determine intent or credibility, or predict an outcome.

Emergency warning

For immediate danger, contact 911 or the appropriate emergency service and follow the user's organizational procedures. Do not wait for CAL Threat, AI, or CPPS.

Authorized, minimum-necessary information

Users must be authorized by their organization and may enter only information their organization is authorized to collect and use. Users should identify sources when possible and distinguish known, unknown, unverified, disputed, reported, and opinion-based information.

Never enter or upload CSAM. Also keep out clinical or medical records, intimate or graphic harmful media, passwords or credentials, malware, and raw forensic collections. When health information is relevant to possible harm to self or others, use only a brief, non-graphic, minimum-necessary safety summary or reference to an authorized internal record.

Human decisions and optional AI

AI is optional and does not make case decisions. An authorized person must review, edit, approve, or reject every AI suggestion before it becomes part of an intake or report. Client case information, uploads, prompts, outputs, edits, and feedback are not authorized for model training or fine-tuning.

Client control and CPPS boundary

The client organization controls access, sharing, retention, downloads, and device or screen protection. CAL Threat does not routinely share case content with CPPS. A deliberate sharing action requests consideration only and does not create monitoring, response duties, or a professional engagement unless separately accepted.

Text-first live pilot

Live case-file uploads will remain disabled during the initial pilot. Clients must retain source files in their authorized case-management or records system and enter only a non-sensitive reference or minimum-necessary summary. Users must not paste restricted file contents into text fields to work around the upload restriction. Optional client logos are non-authoritative presentation assets and may need to be re-uploaded after a recovery event.

Records and currency

CAL Threat records changes, versions, access actions, and human review decisions as designed, but it is not a forensic chain-of-custody system. An intake or report is a snapshot in time and should be updated when material facts change. Downloaded copies are controlled by the client under its own policies.
